The Last Challenge ...

The last Lollishop "Spring" design team challenge ... and away we go ....

Above is the package put together by Sadie Lou ... one of the sweetest "lollipops" ever! Filled with bits and bobs to get the creative juices flowin' .... My favorite is the little velvet flower, very sweet indeed.

As you can see, my package contained a vintage birthday card ... so I already had a theme pretty much already decided upon, but what would the "creations" be? I was torn between a candy filled party favor or a party hat .... and since I just did a favor type project {remember this?}I went with the party hat idea ...

I made these chicken wire crowns a few years back ... I pulled them out for a bit of inspiration for my party tiara.

Some extra goodies I gathered for the project .... chicken wire, vintage pom-pom trim, ruffles fabric, and tulle ... plus the staples ... glitter and glue

Ta-da ... a birthday tiara fit for the Birthday princes {or queen!}

Well, that's a wrap for all of my design challenges ... I'm glad I took it on, I had a lot of fun creating with my surprise kits each month ... I'm going to miss receiving the goodies in the mail!

Back in Town and Back in the Barn ...

Back from vacation and right back into the swing of things ... setting up a new barn market this week, whew! I'm ready for another vaca! SERIOUSLY !!

Taking a Little R&R ...

It's time to close the brocante, turn off the computer, unplug the wii and head for the beach for some much needed down time with family ...  I'm only packing my bathing suit, sundress, flip flops and sun tan lotion ... cameras are allowed, but computers are forbidden !!

 ... time to reconnect, rejuvenate, and have some fun ... sand, sun, and maybe a mouse or two ... see you in a few weeks!!

Creating 'Muchness' ... and memories ...

I signed up a ways back for the French Cupboard's "Mad About Alice" blog party ... the idea was to show off your "muchness" ... your creative creations all about Alice in Wonderland. Sounds like fun, no? ... Well, I had a problem ... I had NEVER read or seen an entire Alice story and was too embarrassed to admit so ... how could I create with my heart behind this project if I didn't even know the entire story? I couldn't ... I searched the Gypsy Prince's bookshelves for Alice ... nothing on Alice, plenty of Peter the Rabbit, Winnie the Pooh, Velveteen Rabbit, Tom Sawyer, Mother Goose .... he had all the classics, except for Alice. To the public library we trot! Now I'm on a mission ... FIND ALICE!!

We easily found her on the library shelf .... many different renditions of her and her cast of characters.

I thought best to start at the beginning and chose the 'original' Alice.

Since checking out the book ... every night we have read a portion of The Adventures of Alice in Wonderland. We haven't finished yet, so we don't know how the story ends ... 

So you ask ... where am I going with all this? ... I was coming down to the wire and thought I really needed to begin creating some "muchness" downstairs, alone, in the studio ... by myself ...

What? NO WAY!! ... it dawned on me and if you have read this far, it has probably dawned on you as well ... I have ALREADY created as much "Muchness" as one possibly can ... a little prince of a boy who has been waiting for me, every night, to read to him ... Alice in Wonderland ... The classic.

All is not perfect in Wonderland ... this is how the night usually ends when I tell him it's time to get into his own bed and turn out the lights ...

At least one of the monkeys around here always have a smile on their face !!
