Final Touches ...

The first Gypsy Market of the 2011 season is happening this weekend ... the past couple of days have been a flurry of last minute preparations!
As typical gypsies we've moved the location of the market ... what a job packing up the caravan has been ... and then there is all the energy put into setting up house shop at the new site ... we've even repainted the gypsy wagon.
If you would like to see some more sneak peeks inside our new space, I'm linking up to French cupboard today .... it's Voila! Thursday ... everything French inspired!!

Porch Club Monday ....

Good morning Porchers ... I've found some more Springtime inspiration for our porches! Last week at the Philadelphia flower show one of the many display areas was dedicated to PORCHES!
Four sweet porches all in a row.
left to right:
Pink cottage style
Grandma's herb garden
Potted porch
A tropical tiki porch

Directly across from the porches were amazing flower boxes ... I was wishing I could pick up a few as-is and take home with me! Very pretty they were.

I hope you've enjoyed a little Monday morning porch inspiration ... the temperatures are creeping up {slowly} ... I can't wait to get outside and start planting! How about you?

On another Porch Club note .... I'm going to make some changes to the format of Porch club. I've decided to turn the party into a once a month event.
My plan is to keep "Porch of the Month" featuring a blogger's porch ... and making that day a linky party to show off your own porches. The date will always be the first day of the month.
After experimenting with it now for a few months and noting participation levels, I believe this new monthly timing will be more enjoyable for everyone!
So, if you have put a Porch club button on your sidebar ... please take it down to avoid confusion ... I'll have some new buttons made up shortly.
That being said ... the next Porch Club will be:
Friday, April 1st.
I hope to see everyone there ; )

Wishing you all a wonderful week!!

Abandoned ...

Do you ever see a beautiful abandoned home and porch ... falling down around itself and wonder? Wonder who was there before ... where did they go ... and why isn't anyone there now loving the old homestead?

I do.
All the time.

Next week's Porch Club topic is the same as this week ... anything that tickles your fancy!

ps. This is Linky's last week to get it right ... or I'm switching to another link system .. I apologize for all of the inconvenience my friends.

Porch of the Month ... March

Yesterday I promised you some more Spring porch inspiration and I believe you will agree hands down with me that March's 'Porch of the Month' delivers ... big time!!

Welcome to the beautiful porch of Shelley Price of Sweet Pea Home.

Sit back and enjoy your time on Shelley's porch ... there is a lot to take in ....

Shelley is married to Rex Price aka Mr. Sweet Pea, she's a former shop owner, now antiques dealer who sells at Marburger Farms twice yearly and occasionally in Florida at Renninger's Antique Fair in Mt.Dora Florida ... and at home sales.
Currently she's getting ready for her big road trip to Marburger ... stop by and say "hello" if you can!
I had the pleasure of meeting Shelley this past Spring in Texas ... and I can tell ya first hand she is the sweetest pea in the bunch!!

Shelley describes her porch as "... a typical screened porch that most Floridians enjoy, but someday we plan to remove this porch and build a new and larger one with vaulted ceilings and an outdoor fireplace." Mr. and Mrs. Sweet Pea have lived in their home since 1995.

Shelley describes her decorating style as "... French farmhouse with a bit of industrial mixed in."

Some of her favorite porch activities include ...."enjoying a glass of wine as the sun goes down while listening to jazz ... or a cup of tea in the early morning while watching the butterflies dance about the gardens."

Did you love it?? Want MORE?? ... would you like a tour of Shelley's entire home? Well, you can ... just run on over to The Old Painted Cottage where her home was featured this past January as "Cottage of the Month"

Shelley also has a little spot on Etsy ... where you too can get a piece of her terrific style!

Thank you for sharing your porch with us Shelley ... I know I'm inspired and have taken a lot of lessons from your personal design book ... thank you!!

Thank you to everyone who has submitted their porch for consideration ... keep them coming ... you can send your porch pictures to: theporchclub@gmail.com

I'm adding a link to Kathleen's White Wednesday party ... how could I not share all the chippy wonderfully patinaed whites Shelley uses on her porch?
